About MAPE Publications
From its inception MAPE published termly magazines, called
MicroScope, containing articles on general issues related to IT and primary education.
MicroScope was supplemented by 'Specials' that took a more in-depth look at aspects of IT.
These included such titles as Early Years Special, Environmental Special and Information
Handling Special. When MicroScope reached 50 it retired to be superseded by a termly
newsletter and an annual magazine. From summer 1998 folders of small booklets called Focus
Packs replaced the Specials. The first of these was the MAPE Focus on Art, and in the
Autumn Term MAPE Focus on Literacy. In 1999 the focus was on Communications and Maths,
with MAPE Focus on History appearing in spring 2000.
